Traffic Safety and Community Garden Coming Up This Week

A look at what to expect in the Chathams this week.

Each Monday we welcome you back to the work week with a look at what to expect in the Chathams. From content you'll find on Patch as the week goes on to community activities, here's what you need to know this week:

1) You need to know about Kings Road: The Chatham Borough Council will vote on a resolution awarding the sidewalk construction and traffic safety improvements project along King Road when they meet Monday. If approved, the Main Street alternative will get a lot safer.

2) You need to know about Washington Avenue and Chatham Street: The flashing red light at the stop sign for those traveling on Chatham Street is out, but that doesn't mean drivers shouldn't stop.

3) You need to know about the community garden: Mayor Bruce Harris and Mayor Nicole Hagner are still reviewing plans for a new community garden, but there could be news this week.

4) You need to know about Back to School: We'll have supply lists and the inside scoop about your kids' schools as we count down to the first day of school on Sept. 9.
