More Than 900 Compete in Chatham Jaycees Fishawack Race

Chatham's Nick DeSantis was the overall winner and Michelle Quinlan, of Morristown, was the top female finisher.

A record number of more than 900 runners participated in the 37th annual Chatham Jaycees Fishawack Race at the annual festival on Saturday, June 14.

Nick DeSantis, of Chatham, was the overall winner of the 4-mile event with a time of 20 minutes, 51 seconds. Michelle Quinlan, of Morristown, was the first female finisher with a time of 25 minutes, 17 seconds.

The winners each received "cake" trophies provided by Anne Heap of Pine Cake Box, of Denville.

Proceeds from the race are dispersed through grants to civic and charitable groups in the Chatham community.
