Memorial Remembers Chatham Deputy DPW Director
Family, friends and co-workers gathered Saturday to reflect on life of Charles Dziedzic.
There was a somber gathering Saturday afternoon near the Chatham Department of Public Works Saturday to recognize the life and work of Deputy Director Charles Dziedzic.
Dziedzic was killed in April when he and two other motorcyclists, returning from a cross-country ride, were struck by an SUV in Arkansas.
DPW Director Robert J. Venezia led the ceremony. Venezia worked with Dziedzic for 19 years, saying "his service to the Chatham community was second to none."

"Charlie led by example and he had a 19 year streak where he didn't use any sick days," Venezia said. "And that went down through the ranks, thanks to Charlie, and we have one of the best sick time records in the state."
