HUNTINGDON, PA -- Three hundred and twelve seniors were awarded Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees on Saturday, May 18, during ceremonies marking Juniata College's 135th commencement. Among the graduates is the following local student: Jennifer A. Robertson of Chatham, daughter of Duncan and Diane Robertson, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology . Robertson is a 2009 graduate of Grier School. Juniata College is a national, liberal arts college located in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. With and enrollment of 1,550, Juniata is a community dedicated to providing the highest quality education.

LEXINGTON, VA -- Christopher C. Adams of Chatham, NJ, a member of the class of 2015 at Washington and Lee University, was recently inducted into Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, which is limited to students who complete the first term of their first year with superior academic records. Andrew Stasiukevicius of Chatham, NJ has been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisc. Stasiukevicius is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in Environmental Engineering. Marquette University is a Catholic, Jesuit university that draws its more than 11,500 students from all 50 states and more than 75 different countries. Seven Chatham natives were among the nearly 900 University of Scranton students who received their bachelor's degrees at the undergraduate commencement on May 27 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre. The local students who graduated include: Rubino was among the 15 members of The University of Scranton's class of 2012 who were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army during the Jesuit school's commencement exercises. Rubino has been assigned to the Medical Service Corps. Several Chatham residents earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Drew University in Madison on May 12: New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Barry T. Albin spoke to students at Drew's 144th commencement ceremony, along with Drew President Robert Weisbuch. "'If your nerve deny you,' Emily Dickinson proclaims, 'go above your nerve,'" Weisbuch told graduates, quoting the 19th century American poet. Four Chatham residents were named to the University of Scranton's spring 2012 Dean's List, which recognizes students for academic excellence. The University of Scranton is a Jesuit university located in northeast Pennsylvania. To be included on the university's Dean's List, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better and meet the minimum number of credit hours. Over 1,470 students were included in the spring 2012 semester Dean's List.

The Chatham swimmer joins the Red Foxes in her first year.
Greta Leberfinger has been named a member of Marist College's womens swimming and diving team for the 2011-12 season. Leberfinger is one of 23 student athletes on the team and competes in breastroke and individual medley. Leberfinger, a member of Chatham High School's class of 2011, holds three team records at Chatham High and earned First Team All-County honors in breastroke. As captain of the Chatham High swim team for the 2010-11 season, she helped lead the team to an undefeated season and a state championship.
