Students and staff members will have school on Feb. 18. Store owner Doris Crater arranged for many small businesses in downtown Chatham to open early Saturday for shoppers. Essex County malls busy, but not overcrowded most of the day. Rupture closed roadway between Noe Avenue and Hickory Place for much of Thanksgiving. Phil Franz, the father of three daughters, has lived in Chatham Borough since 1999. Seven people were injured in the two-car accident and transported to a local hospital.

Chatham Township Committee approved the temporary cell tower at Esternay Field by a vote of 4-1. Most of the funds will be taken out of Chatham Borough's joint insurance fund, but emergency appropriations will have to be allotted for the rest. Despite going without power for days, 12 staff members from the School District of the Chathams are ready to give their time to fight blood cancers. Bavaro is a former tight end for the New York Giants, and a former resident of Chatham. Grand prize winner receives $100K. The fourth annual Chatham Turkey Trot takes place on Nov. 22.

Outages Linger, GOP Win Local Seats Top Chatham News

Republican candidate Kevin Sullivan earned about 71 percent of the vote Tuesday over Democratic candidate Richard Erich Templin in Chatham Township. Election results in national, state and local races from Chatham Borough and Chatham Township. The two incumbents defeated Democrat Michael Yodice by nearly 900 votes each. All substations that service the township are functional again, but residents are still without power as a winter storm hits the area. JCP&L released new estimates for power restoration after the area was hit by a snow storm Wednesday.
