Diving Accident Sends Teen to Hospital
Chatham Emergency Squad responded to Noe Pond Club to examine the boy.
The Chatham Emergency Squad transported a teenage boy to Morristown Medical Center after he struck his head and chest on a diving board at Noe Pond Club. Chatham Township Police and CES responded to the scene at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday on report of an injured swimmer. Tracy Ness, the manager of Noe Pond Club, said the boy was "attempting to do a backflip and struck his chest and head on the board." Ness said the boy did not lose consciousness and was able to move his fingers and toes. As a precaution, she said, he was taken to the hospital. "We're lucky he's OK," Ness said. Police said the boy received further treatment at Morristown Medical Center.
