Burglary, Car Crashes Top March News

No injuries were caused by the accident. Chatham Borough Police worked with the Morris County Sheriff's Office to investigate the home burglary. The driver was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian. Borough resident discovered the car stolen when he went to leave for work Tuesday. Police said there were no injuries in the accident, which occurred during a heavy snowfall. Owner Aida Hajjar tried retiring from the restaurant business, but she couldn't stay away. Heavy wind and snow were expected in the storm. Marie's Italian Specialties was included on an episode of 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,' Guy Fieri's show, which aired Monday, Jan. 21. Discovery of the body was made Tuesday, Jan. 8 near Long Hill Road in Harding Township. Authorities said there was no foul play involved in the man's death. Officials ruled death a suicide from gunshot wound to the stomach. Susan Neibert, who died on Dec. 29, worked at Southern Boulevard School for 17 years. A Morristown man was allegedly involved in accidents on I-78 before being stopped in Chatham by borough police. Now with November behind us, we bring you the top local stories you cared about in the past weeks on Chatham Patch, based on how many people read the stories. An additional 1,200 line workers joined the nearly 7,000 JCP&L workers already on the ground in New Jersey on Friday after winter storm Athena caused JCP&L's power outage numbers to increase by more than 100,000 from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.
