Mr. Clemente Goes to Washington

Morristown native and jazz pianist, Rio Clemente, to perform at White House Dec. 22.

Clemente, a Morristown native also known internationally as "The Bishop of Jazz," will be playing there on Dec. 22. It's quite an honor for a man who considers himself a patriot. "America is very close to my heart," said Clemente, who served in the Coast Guard Auxilliary. "I never do a concert without ending with something patriotic." It all started with a phone call. Calcagni, director of the state Division of Consumer Affairs. "As with any offer, consumers should learn all the details, know the associated costs, and judge whether it's a good deal for them." Calcagni urged consumers to know their rights in the marketplace and offered the following advice and information: Store Layaway: Rainchecks: A retailer may, but is…

Question of the Day

Which Chatham Store Gets Your Small Business Saturday Support?

Give some love to your favorite Mom-and-Pop store in the Chathams.

Let's face it: There are a lot of big, big businesses out there. And, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Many of these large businesses provide us with some of our most needed services. Many of them employ our friends, our neighbors, our families–and, for that, we are grateful. Still, there is something about a small business on Main Street, the local place, the place where everyone recognizes your face. You know more of the money you spend there has a better chance of staying in your community. Not only do these places employ your friends, your neighbors, your families, a lot of these businesses are owned by them. Whatever your reason, there is something special about small business. Planning Boards in Chatham Borough and Chatham …
