Group took goods to Haiti that were donated by Chatham residents.

The following letter was sent from Chantal Lemoine, a doctor from Haiti who went down to the country to help treat those affected by the recent earthquake there, to Chatham resident MaryJo Agosta. Tony Lind and Agosta, a Chahtam couple, collected clothing and other goods from Chatham residents that were sent to Haiti with Lemoine and other doctors from her family. Hi MaryJo, Thank you for all your support. I spent an amazing two weeks in Haiti, working at the Medishare Hospital run out of tents set up by the University of Miami. My uncle and two cousins, as well as our friend Linda Luccombe, stayed for a week. The eighth grade girls basketball team at St. Patrick's School in Chatham and a few guests from nationally ranked St. Patrick's High School in Elizabeth joined forces to raise money and awareness for disaster relief efforts in Haiti during an event Thursday night. St. Patrick's high schoolers Chase Plummer, who will attend UMBC; Chris Gibson, who will attend Nyack; and Joshua Daniell, who will attend Wagner College; took half court layups with the girls for 30 minutes in an effort to raise money for the Samuel Dalembert Foundation.Dalembert, a former Seton Hall University player and current Philidelphia 76er, is a native of Haiti, and will be matching the money that the girls raised. A Chatham couple is collecting supplies this week that will be sent to Haiti with doctors that are taking a trip there this weekend. MaryJo Agosta and Tony Lind are collecting the supplies at their home at 30 Roosevelt Ave. in the borough. The goods they collect will be sent to Haiti with Chantal, Phillipe, Fritz and Jean-Claude Lemoine. Chantal, Phillipe and Fritz Lemoine are cousins and Jean-Claude is their uncle. They were all born in Haiti and are now doctors that live in the United States. They were originally scheduled to travel to the earthquake-ravaged country with Hope for Haiti on Saturday, but their flight was canceled.
