GETTYSBURG, PA -- Gettysburg College students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester's work are placed on the College's Deans' Commendation List. James Salierno of Chatham, has been placed the Deans' Commendation List for outstanding academic achievement in the Fall 2012 semester. Gettysburg College is four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences which includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other scholars among its alumni.

Alison Cooke of Chatham, a Junior at Gettysburg College, spent the Fall 2012 semester studying in Spain. Paige McKenna of Chatham, a Junior at Gettysburg College, spent the Fall 2012 semester studying in Denmark. Lindsey Gieger, a first-year student at Gettysburg College, was awarded a Presidential Scholarship by the college. The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to top-ranking students based on their grade point average, class rank, and SAT or ACT scores. It is among the various merit scholarships Gettysburg College awards to students based on their achievements in high school. Chatham native Kyle Szajowkski graduated from Gettysburg College with his bachelor's degree in history. The commencement exercises took place May 20. The liberal arts college enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students. Notable alumni of Gettysburg College include Rhodes scholars and a Nobel laureate. Another Chatham native, Adam Weinbrom, was named to the college's 2012 spring semester Dean's Commendation List. The honor of being named to the commendation list is reserved for students who earn a grade point average of 3.33 or higher. Elizabeth Rouillard, also of Chatham, was named to Gettysburg College's Dean's Commendation List for the 2011 fall semester.
