VIDEO: New Hydrant Markers for Green Village
The volunteer fire department replaced flags and added reflective bands around hydrants.
Volunteers at the Green Village Fire Department gave up one recent Saturday to go throughout town and replace markers on fire hydrants. The new flags and reflective bands are designed to be easy to see, even at night or in snow. Fire officials said marking the hydrants will help save time when they or neighboring fire departments go to fight fires, a time when every second counts.
