Cake from Ramsey deli has played a role in both the NY Giants' Super Bowl win and the Mahwah High football team's success this season. Giants' season turned around last year after boy with pulmonary disease brought cake to team practice.
A Mahwah family may have found the secret weapon behind the NY Giants’ Super Bowl victory – crumb cake made at Lotito’s Deli in Ramsey. And now, the cake might be helping to catapult the Mahwah High School Thunderbirds toward their first state championship in over 30 years. Known as the “Crumb Cake of Champions,” the sweet treat was originally handed out to the Giants players and coaches as a ‘thank you’ from the Accurso family, whose son, 9-year-old Vinny, suffers from pulmonary hypertension, a life-threatening lung disorder. Parking, traffic could be an issue Monday afternoon as N.Y. Giant appears at Legends Gallery.
Randy Dembo, one of the owners of Legends Gallery, said he expects New York Giants fans to line up at about 3 p.m. Monday for the sold-out appearance by quarterback Eli Manning, which begins at 6:30 p.m. "With Victor Cruz, it started at 1 p.m., and [people] were here at 9:30 [a.m.]," Dembo said. For Manning, Dembo said the 250 tickets for the event, which ranged from $120 to $350, could bring 1,000 people into Chatham Borough Monday. Each ticket admits a group of people but only pays for one signature from Manning. "We're not encouraging people to bring a throng of people with them," Dembo said. Ticket prices include an item for Manning to sign, such as miniature or full-size helmets or footballs, a jersey or a photograph. Giants fans are …

New York mounts comeback on final drive to beat New England.
INDIANAPOLIS – The crowd was eerily quiet as Eli Manning and the Giants took over for one last drive in the final four minutes of Super Bowl XLVI. Like he’s done countless times during the 2011 season, Manning made a series of precision passes – five to be exact, including a 38-yard out route to Mario Manningham that sparked the drive – and set New York up inside the 10-yard line. Ahmad Bradshaw finished the drive with a 6-yard touchdown run that capped a 21-17 Giants victory over the New England Patriots at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday night. Manning, who was 30-for-40 passing, threw for 296 yards and one touchdown, earning his second Super Bowl MVP award against the Patriots. “We moved the ball down the field, and Eli [Manning] made some …
