Members of the Chatham Downtown Alliance held anniversary parties throughout the borough's main street Thursday night. Stores marked their anniversaries with late hours Thursday and special sales for those who came to shop, including a Judy Connally trunk show at d.j. crater. Just after the hurricane and before the holidays, downtown stores offer an evening of bargains and elegance.
Tony Britt of the Chatham Downtown Alliance (CDA) has been in Chatham Borough since before Tropical Storm Sandy hit the area, and he knows firsthand what all residents of the Chathams do. "It has been a tough two weeks for all of us," Britt said. As power is restored to town and Chathamites slowly return to normal, Britt and the CDA have organized the 6th Ladies Shopping Night Thursday along Main Street and other downtown borough stores. Lori Ann Medico, owner of Bliss Clothing and Accessories, started the concept of Ladies Night Out in 2009 to help bolster small businesses in Chatham.
