Len Resto Chosen as Borough Council President

Former Council President James Lonergan nominated Resto for the role.

In the Chatham Borough Council's first meeting of 2013, Councilman Leonard Resto was unanimously selected to serve as the council president. Resto, along with John Holman, was sworn in for his second full term on the council Monday evening. The two were re-elected to the council in November, both for three-year terms. He has served as the liaison to the Green Initiatives Committee, the Environmental Commission, the Public Arts Council, the Community Garden Committee and the Open Space and Historical Trust Advisory Committee. Resto was nominated by Councilman James Lonergan, who has served as council president for the past two years. The role of president expires on Dec. 31 of this year.

Resto, Holman to Begin Second Terms on Borough Council

The Chatham Borough Council's first meeting of 2013 will include a discussion of a potential shared construction office between Madison and Chatham, and establish an Overnight Parking Advisory Committee.

The Chatham Borough Council will reconvene for their reorganization Monday, their first meeting in the new year. Mayor Bruce Harris will give his annual address, which will recapture the old year and look forward into 2013. Besides the annual address from Harris, Councilmen Len Resto and John Holman will be sworn in for their second terms on the council. Both were recently re-elected to the council. A regular meeting will follow the reorganization meeting. Information Technology Services, a Sergeant Zone Plan for the Chatham Borough Police Department and a shared service between Madison and Chatham for the construction office are among the discussion items on the regular agenda.
