Chatham Township's municipal building is located toward the western edge of town. It houses the majority of theMore township's offices—the Police Department and Department of Public Works are on Southern Boulevard.

The building is also home to the Senior Center of the Chathams and the School District of the Chathams Board of Education.

There are fields and a playground behind the structure. The township's Sept. 11 memorial is located adjacent to the recreation areas.

Chatham Skate Park

The Chatham Skate Park is adjacent to the township's police department.

It opened in 2003, and receivedMore funding from a variety of community organizations. It also received various grants that also helped fund the project.

Its halfpipes and equipment can be used by both skateboarders and inline skaters.

Chatham Borough Police Department

The Chatham Borough Police Department is one of two nationally accredited law enforcement agencies in Morris County,More which means the department must fulfill a set of rigorous standards set forth by the Commission on Law Enforcement Accreditation. It received its accreditation in 2008, and is one of seven police agencies statewide to be nationally accredited.

A plaque displaying the honor is prominently displayed outside the main door to the police department.

The department runs DARE, traffic safety, neighborhood safety and Internet safety programs. It also issues firearm permits.

Phillip J. Crosson is the acting police chief.

Chatham Township Police Department

The 28 members of the township's police department are divided into four patrol squads. Each consists of threeMore patrolmen and a dispatcher and is supervised by a sergeant.

The squads each cover 12 hour work shifts and rotate amongst one another. The department also has a detective bureau, which investigates crimes reported directly to its members.

The department also issues firearms permits.

Its police chief is John Paton.

Nash Park is located near the township's Police Department and Department of Public Works.

There is aMore playground on site, as well as a baseball field. There is also a pond at the site that can be used for ice skating if it freezes over.
