The building is also home to the Senior Center of the Chathams and the School District of the Chathams Board of Education.
There are fields and a playground behind the structure. The township's Sept. 11 memorial is located adjacent to the recreation areas.

The Chatham Borough Police Department is one of two nationally accredited law enforcement agencies in Morris County,…More which means the department must fulfill a set of rigorous standards set forth by the Commission on Law Enforcement Accreditation. It received its accreditation in 2008, and is one of seven police agencies statewide to be nationally accredited.
A plaque displaying the honor is prominently displayed outside the main door to the police department.
The department runs DARE, traffic safety, neighborhood safety and Internet safety programs. It also issues firearm permits.
