Is it a school crossing?
jp1 July 24, 2014 at 10:31 am
I had the impression that this was a local patch not state wide.
Chuck Milani July 25, 2014 at 07:30 am
Yeah JP I just finished reading an article about a boat parade but no mention of a town and didn'tRead More realize I was linked to Ocean City Patch

State Parks employees on the whole will not go outside of their comfort zone. The trash, drains,Read More varmints will go unchecked until someone gets hurt or attacked before you realize there is actually someone on duty. They draw a paycheck, right. So why do we have to hustle them out of their trucks or offices to get anything that is covered by their duties as government employees. I must say there are some Park employees that do their assigned duties.

Tammy!! I am such an idiot!! Thanks to you, I can now see the correlation between bad behavior,Read More not knowing where to throw used toilet paper, and being less fortunate than myself!! When I went to the Park, with my son, I was a single mother, without a car, trying to make ends meet. I had every right to take my child to the lake, to enjoy it, on my day off!!!! I was less "fortunate" than the "tourists" that arrive in their expensive vehicles (and probably on Welfare). I am not displeased with those that are not as fortunate as myself. I don't like people that do not respect the lake, its residents, and are slobs. BTW...congratulations on being 50!! In January, I'll be 70. Age doesn't make either of us smart or right. I was born & raised in NYC....I was raised to accept and be tolerant of all people especially those that are less fortunate.

Joe, I tolerate those that work & strive to make their lives better. My grandmother literallyRead More "came off the boat" in 1922. Her first priority was to become a citizen. She loved this country and was proud to be an American. I love this country because of her. She fed and helped to clothe the poor. I learned her values and, as I grew older, understood. why she did what she did. She had no tolerance for those that did not strive to work and help themselves to make their lives better. She worked two jobs to support her family. Ethics........

Why is a snake in a lake in New Jersey news in the "Strongsville" Patch? Isn't thisRead More paper supposed to be pertinent local news stories?

The township has to limit services so it can overpay people like Thomas Ciccarone.
Ron Swanson July 10, 2014 at 09:21 am
Not sure the Borough should be doing this either. We have a mulch area, and if residents can'tRead More dispose of their own yard debris they should call a landscaper. Dedicating DPW to a task like this when they supposedly are running on a skeleton crew doesn't seem sensible, nor does it justify property tax increases.
Hugs July 10, 2014 at 01:40 pm
Some sections of Chatham got hit by strong downward winds the other night while a block away notRead More even a twig fell. Chatham is trying to provide a service and we should be thankful. It's only a day or less for the crew to pick up brush. Just hope they skip the homes that take advantage of them (ie now is a good time to dig up my bushes or trim my trees and the town will take them away!!!). I would be happy if the BOE was coming by to pick up our debris. Our property taxes are not the fault of the town. The council does everything they can to limit our taxes while BOE simply says we need more $!
