Stanley Congregational Church United Church of Christ
"Progressive, thoughtful, inclusive, democratic"—these are some of the adjectives Stanley church officials use to describe their place of worship, which has been around for 130 years.
Sunday worship is at 10am, and a coffee hour follows services. Child care is available during services, and children ages 3 through 8th grade attend the first part of the service, after which they are dismissed for church school.
The Rev. Shawn Garvey, who is the church's pastor, hosts Bible study on Tuesdays at 11am and on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7pm. There is an adult education class on Sunday mornings before church.
The church also hosts fundraisers such as coffehouses and offers a wide variety of programs for children. Members participate in mission trips and perform outreach activities.
