I started training at Chatham Karate Academy when I was 8 years old. Now, 12 years later, I am still training and return to the dojo during college breaks. The Whiteleys have created something very unique at CKA- a second home for those who study there. The Whiteleys, and other instructors at CKA, are dedicated to teaching Isshinryu Karate, an Okinawan style, in its traditional form as close to the way it was created by its founder as possible. They still actively train with Isshinryu masters from both the USA and Okinawa in order to continue their studies and to help their students improve further. I highly recommend this dojo and all of its instructors to anyone thinking of starting or continuing their study of martial arts!

Outstanding martial arts school! I have been training at CKA for nearly 14 years and teaching for part of this time. The Whiteleys are true martial arts masters and provide the best (and most fun!) instruction available. The dojo is a warm community with adults, teens and children all working together and knowing one another for years.
