Schools Open, Arts Festival, 9/11 Memorial This Week

Board of Education, municipal governing bodies also scheduled to meet.

Back to School: Chatham public schools open Monday. Police are urging motorists and pedestrians to drive and walk safely.

Chatham Borough Council:
The borough's governing body is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the municipal building, 54 Fairmount Ave. A resolution celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Chatham Borough Police Department is among the items on the agenda (PDF).

9/11 Memorial: A ceremony is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial behind the Library of the Chathams. The memorial recently was repaired after sustaining some damage during Superstorm Sandy. All are invited to attend the ceremony.

Board of Education: The school board for the School District of the Chathams is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the township municipal building, 58 Meyersville Road.

Chatham Township Committee: The township's governing body is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the municipal building, 58 Meyersville Road.

Farmers' Market: The Chatham Borough Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chatham Train Station.

Chatham Area Fine Arts & Crafts Festival: The work of more than 100 artisans and crafters will be on display at the Chatham Train Station from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday for the first Chatham Area Fine Arts & Crafts Festival. There is no parking at train station the day of the event.
