Library Parking Lot Expansion on Council Agenda
A look at the week ahead in the Chathams.
The Chatham Borough Council plans to discuss a proposal to expand the parking lot at the Library of the Chathams at its 7:30 p.m. Monday meeting.
Supporters and residents who have concerns about the proposal are expected to attend the meeting.
The library has asked patrons to show their support.
"Have you ever had a hard time finding a parking space when trying to visit the library?" the library said on its Facebook page. "If you would like more parking spaces added behind St. Paul’s (the church next to the library), PLEASE attend the Borough Council meeting on Monday, December 9th at 7:30 PM and show your support!"
A resident on North Hillside near Memorial Park said there is little open space left in the park, and taking away more space for parking would restrict the park's use.
