Joint Garden Resolutions, Township's EcoChallenge This Week

Columbus Day, special Senate election, holiday show auditions also on tap.

Columbus Day: No school for Chatham students Monday. Teachers have an in-service.

Chatham Players Auditions: The Chatham Community Players are holding open auditions for "Christmas Cards," an original holiday production that calls for each cast member to play up to six different characters. Auditions are scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at The Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Ave. Everyone is encouraged to audition. Chatham Township's EcoChallenge: A social group, church, and high school environmental club are among several teams participating in a two-week "EcoChallenge" that kicks off Tuesday. The program is open to all Chatham Township residents and invites people to try changing one small habit to improve household recycling or otherwise be more green. For more information about Chatham Township's teams and how to sign up visit the township's website.

Chatham Borough Council: The borough's governing body is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the municipal building, 54 Fairmount Ave. Resolutions authorizing the relocation of the joint community garden to Woodland Park, and establishing a Joint Community Garden Advisory Committee are among the items on the agenda.

Special Election: Special Senate General Election is Wednesday. Polls open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can see Chatham Borough's polling locations here and Chatham Township's polling locations here.

Farmers' Market: The Chatham Borough Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at the Chatham Train Station through Nov. 23.
