House Tour, Bear Awareness, Gun Range Noise This Week

Borough Council, Township Committee, Board of Ed to meet.

Veterans Day: A Veterans Day service and laying of the wreath will be held 11 a.m. Monday. All are welcome to gather at the Memorial Stone on the Green next to the Green Village Fire Department, 529 Green Village Road in the Green Village section of Chatham Township.

Borough Council: Chatham Borough's governing body is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Monday in the municipal building, 54 Fairmount Ave. A resolution to enter a shared services agreement with Madison to have Madison provide all state-mandated Uniform Construction Code Services is on the agenda. Resolutions recognizing Nov. 30 as Small Business Saturday and supporting a join application for a grant to de-snag the Passaic River also are up for vote. Ordinances that would adjust parking regulations and adjust residential building regulations to add an exception for porticos are slated for introduction. You can see the agenda here.

Board of Education: The School District of the Chathams is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the municipal building, 58 Meyersville Road.

House Tour: The "Home Is Where the Heart Is" House Tour, presented by the PTO of Chatham Middle School to benefit educational programs, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. For more information see the event listing.

Township Committee: Chatham Township's governing body is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the municipal building, 58 Meyersville Road. A salary ordinance for 2014 is listed for introduction. A discussion on reducing noise at the township's gun range also is on the agenda.

Bear Seminar: An educational bear awareness seminar for Chatham Township residents is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, township police have announced.

Michele Smith from the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife will be presenting critical bear education and awareness information to residents, and all are welcome to attend, police said.
