Green Fair, Flu Shots, Art Gala This Week
Book collection drive for the Library of the Chathams also scheduled.
Green Fair of the Chathams: The fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Reasoner Park and Railroad Plaza North. Rizzo's Reptiles, Big Jeff Music and Vinny Voltage are lined up to perform at the sixth annual event. Admission is free.
Art Gala: The Art League of the Chathams will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with a gala from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Chatham Township Municipal Building, 58 Meyersville Road. It will include food, wine tasting by Hickory Wine Cellar, a silent art auction, gift basket raffle (tricky tray) and live music featuring members of The Baroque Orchestra of NJ and local musician Joel Read. The proceeds from the event go toward an annual scholarship awarded to a graduate pursuing a career in visual arts. The art league also presents eight exhibits a year in both Chatham Township and Chatham Borough. The league is open to all. The tickets are $15 each or two for $25 and can be ordered at www.artleagueofthechathams.org or call 973-635-0845.
Book Donations: A book collection drive by the Friends of the Library of the Chathams is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Books, DVDs and CDs will be sold in the 2014 annual book sale. Textbooks, condensed books, magazines, VHS tapes, and damaged items cannot be accepted.
Flu Shots: Seasonal influenza immunizations will be administered to Chatham Township residents aged 50 and older from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Chatham Township Senior Center, 58 Meyersville Road, Chatham Township. No appointments are necessary. Seniors with a Medicare Part B card are asked to bring it to the clinic. All are reminded to wear short sleeves if possible when they come for their flu shot. The immunizations are provided by the Chatham Township Board of Health and the Madison Health Department. For more information call the Madison Health Department at 973-593-3079 ext.9.
