Wins for Basketball, Hockey Teams

Sports teams head into tournament season.

How did your favorite sports teams do over the weekend?

On Friday, the boys ice hockey team defeated Robbinsville 4-0.

Scott Kepler scored in the first period, assisted by Brett Montgomerey.

Robert Graziano scored on a power play in the second period, assisted by Kepler. Kepler and Graziano assisted Trip Burke on the third goal, also in the second period.

Teddy Simson put the last goal on the scoreboard in the third period, assisted by Kepler and Graziano.

Goalie CJ Albanese had 22 saves on the game.

This win brings their season record to 14-1-8.

  • On Saturday:
  • The girls basketball team defeated Pequannock 49-40 in the MCCSADA Tournament.
  • The boys basketball team defeated Madison 44-33 in the MCSSADA Tournament.
  • The JV boys basketball team defeated Hanover Park 45-40 in the Morris County Tournament.
  • The wrestling team lost to Summit 51-24 and to Pingry 39-34. They defeated Orange 28-27.

On Sunday:

  • The JV girls basketball team was defeated by Jefferson 54-45 in Morris County Tournament.

The following games are scheduled for Monday, depending on weather and facility condition and availability:

  • The bowling team competes in NJSIAA bowling sectionals at Jersey Lanes at noon.
  • The boys swim team competes against Morristown in the NJSIAA sectional semifinals at 4 p.m.
  • The girls swim team competes against Rumson-Fair Haven at 7:30 p.m. at the Morris Union Jointure Pool.
  • The boys basketball team takes on Morris Catholic at Chatham High at 7 p.m.
  • The JV boys basketball team takes on Morris Catholic at home at 5:30 p.m.
