Towns Gear Up Girls Softball For New Season

Madison, Chatham and Summit sign up players.

Softball leadership team members from Chatham, Madison and Summit met recently at Farley's Place  in downtown Chatham to continue their planning efforts for the 2011 season.

Organizers say all three towns have seen significant increases in the number of girls playing softball since they combined their efforts. The 2011 season will see over 1,000 girls in the three programs.

A total of 24 teams—14 in fifth and sixth grades, and 10 in seventh/eighth grades—from the three towns will compete against each other this spring.
