Several roads will be closed, with detours in effect, for about three hours. Traffic detours will be in place on Woodland and Spring Avenues, Spring Valley Road, South Street and Southgate Parkway in Morris Township and Loantaka Way and Spring Valley Road in Harding and Chatham Township. Chatham Township police warned residents via Nixle that more than 2,000 people are expected in the area of the race and that motorists should try to avoid driving on nearby streets.

Aside from bringing so many symbols of strength together in one area, the race will also serve as a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels of Morristown.

In preparation for the super dash, students from Ridge High School, in Basking Ridge, helped organizers. To thank them, the Superhero Half Marathon and Relay organization made a donation to help the school create the Fern Wilson Memorial Scholarship Fund which helps support college-bound Ridge students. Race organizers are planning to donate to the fund each year.
