Soccer Team Defeats Dodgers in Overtime

The boys fell to Morris Catholic, but turned defeat into victory when they faced rival Madison.

Several members of the girls tennis team competed in state tournaments. State Individual Results are below.

  • Ashely Perselay / Julia Edgar def. J.P. Stevens 6-2, 5-7, 10-7
  • Jess Sullivan / Katie Howard-Johnson def. North Brunswick 6-2, 6-2

On Sunday, Oct. 7:

The boys soccer team had its five-game winning streak snapped when they fell to Morris Catholic 1-0 in Denville. Bryan Medina scored in the second overtime.

On Monday, Oct. 8:

The boys soccer team continued its solid play with a thrilling 2-1 overtime road victory under the lights over cross-town rival Madison. Sean McHugh struck the game's first goal in the first half and David Gill notched the winner in overtime. Chatham is now 6-4-1.

The girls tennis team defeated Bernards 5-0. The Cougars now stand at 14-2.  Victorious at their respective positions were: 

  • First Singles: Emily Sroczynski
  • Second Singles: Alison Ramsland3rd Singles: Megan Gesell
  • First Doubles: Ashley Perselay and Julia Edgar
  • Second Doubles: Jess Sullivan and Katie Howard-Johnson

The JV boys soccer team defeated Madison 1-0.

The JV girls tennis team defeated Bernards 8-0.
