Celebrities and top tennis players came to Chatham Friday night for a the Justin Gimelstob Children's Foundation 2013 Tennis Exhibition.

More than a thousand people filled Centercourt Athletic Club on North Passaic Avenue to see matches with Andy Roddick, James Blake, John Isner, Justin Gimelstob and actor David Duchovny.

Throughout the evening, items were auctioned off, including four framed rackets signed by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray that sold for $15,000.

Players ribbed each other and traded witty banter. Madison resident Meg Anderson, who attended with a group of friends to support a good cause, said it was fun to see the players joking around.

Yuri Goldberg and his son, David, 12, came from Staten Island.

"I wanted to see how they play," David said.

They said Blake's forehand was impressive, and he could return to the game.

Friday was the sixth time the exhibition was held at the Centercourt Athletic Club. Justin Gimelstob, who grew up in New Vernon, said the club was a second home to him throughout his childhood.
