Ice Hockey Team Advances in Tournament

There will be some sports related meetings in January as well.

After a brief holiday hiatus, Chatham High School sports picked back up on Monday with tournament ice hockey play against West Essex in the Jefferson Township High School tournament in Stockholm.

Cougars ice hockey defeated West Essex, 4-0, led by a hat trick from Teddy Simson and a few assists from Trip Burke. Chatham goalie Jordan Boles shut West Essex out with 19 saves on the day. Both teams had 19 shots on goal in the game. Besides Simson’s three goals, Brian Leonard also scored in the second period for Chatham.

Sports meetings scheduled for early next year:

  • Girls Lacrosse will hold an organizational meeting on Wed, Jan 4 at 2:45 p.m. in the Chatham High School cafeteria. Any girls interested in joining the 2012 spring lacrosse team should attend, as forms will be distributed regarding schedules, work outs, and more. If unable to attend, notify Coach Marriott at tmmdhm@aol.com.
  • An athletic booster club meeting will be held on Jan 3 at 6 p.m. in the Chatham High School Media Center.

Tuesday sports schedule:

  • Boys junior varsity basketball hosted Millburn for the holiday tournament at 10 a.m.
  • Boys varsity basketball will host Millburn at 2 p.m. for the holiday tournament.
  • Girls varsity basketball will host Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child at 6 p.m.
