Hockey Team Falls to Morris Knolls

Track teams finish with top 10 placements in Holiday Invitational.

All of 's winter sports teams are now in full swing.

On Friday:

  • The ice hockey team was defeated by Morris Knolls 1-0 at the Mennan Arena. Goalie Jordan Boles had 12 saves.
  • The girls basketball team defeated Dover 59-15 in Chatham.
  • The boys basketball team defeated Dover in Dover.

    Congratulations to Anthony Malatesta, who was named to The Star Ledger All State Group 2 team for cross country. Malatesta was also named to the All-County team by The Daily Record.

  • The wrestling team competed in the West Morris Central Tournament in Long Valley. Place finishers included Brian Weber (6th), Taylor Boehmer (6th), and Tom Penn (5th). Kieren Brennan and Dylan Mulcahy led the way for Chatham. Kieren finished at 3rd place at the 182-lb. weight
    class and Dylan won the 132-lb. title.

The following games are scheduled for Monday:

  • Ice hockey takes on Morristown High School at 4:30 p.m. Transport leaves at 3 p.m.
  • The boys fencing team competes against Morris Knolls High School at Chatham High at 6 p.m.
  • The girls fencing team competes against Morris Knolls High School at Chatham High at 6 p.m.

The boys and girls swim teams will host a Holiday Food Drive at their meet against West Morris at Dec. 20. Fans attending are encouraged to bring canned food, cereal and/or other nonperishable food items. The food will be donated to the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County.

For those who do not plan to attend the meet and would still like to donate, there will be a food collection box in the high school main lobby during the week of Dec. 19-23.

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing lacrosse on Jan. 4 at 2:45 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. All those interested in playing in 2012 should attend. Pre-season workouts, preliminary schedules and spirit wear order forms will be distributed. If unable to attend, please contact Head Coach Deb Marriott.

The Booster Club next meets on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Chatham High Media Center.
