Girls Golf Team Builds Camaraderie, Numbers in Second Season

And still stay under par.

In 2011, the co-ed golf team at branched into separate teams for boys and girls so the girls could get a chance to play.

One season later, the team's numbers have risen to 16 players and the girls started their 2012 season with four straight wins.

Captains Caroline McCann and Chelsea Flanigan, Coach Joe Gaba and player Katie Howard-Johnson talked to Chatham Patch about the team's sophomore season, cooperation and support within the team and the advantages of a girls team.

The girls golf team is funded by parents, the Chatham Athletic Foundation and the Chatham Booster Club.
