Third Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot on Nov. 24

As a kick-off to the Holiday Season, The Chatham Turkey Trot, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will host its 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in the Highlands section of ChathamTownship. This annual event has fast become a Highlands tradition and is expected to continue to grow in size and popularity. Last year, more than 170 runners participated in the 1 Mile Fun Run and 5K Family Fun Run, which raised $4,000 for the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Diabetes Research Institute.

Registration will take place at the corner of Seminole Drive and Van Houton Drive. Participants will run through the scenic Highlands section of Chatham Township.

WHEN:

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 201

      • 8:00 AM - Registration/warm-ups
      • ~ 8:30 AM – 1 Mile Kids Fun Run
      • ~ 9:00 AM – Program/National Anthem - 5K race follows
      • ~ 9:50 AM - Award ceremony follows the conclusion of the race.  

PHOTO-OP:   

The Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department will hang a 50-foot American flag from Ladder 12 (its 100 foot aerial ladder truck) above the starting line under which runners will position themselves for the start of the race. Runners will race through one of the most scenic neighborhoods of ChathamTownship.

 The Chatham Turkey Trot is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
