Get Certified for Summer at The Connection
Get American Red Cross certified at The Connection. There will be a Lifeguarding Recertification Challenge (from 12-4pm for $180) and a CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Challenge (from 10-12:30pm for $90) on Friday, April 13th.
The Lifeguarding Recert – Challenge begins with a brief CPR/AED skill review and a Q&A session. Once challenge testing has begun, there will be instructor PROMPTING ONLY – no coaching or assisting. Along with practical skills testing, participants must pass the written test with a score of 80% or better. Participants that pass the recert successfully will receive a Lifeguarding certification valid for 3 years.
The CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer – Challenge is a course that tests participants on how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until advance medical personnel are available to take over. Topics include: primary assessment, ventilations (including use of CPR breathing barriers and use of BVMs), chocking (including conscious and unconscious), CPR (including one and two rescuer) and AED. The course provides real-life rescue scenarios which reinforce decision-making skills. Participants should be prepared for the practical and written test. Those that pass will receive a CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification valid for 2 years.

A reminder to participants: a membership to The Connection is not required. Please bring a bathing suit for water skills and a pocket mask the day of testing.
