Cougars Lose Lead, Game to Rival Madison
Chatham struggled in the game, scoring only 2 points in second quarter
The Chatham High School boys basketball team traveled to play neighboring rival Madison Monday night at Madison. The Cougars let a first quarter lead slip away for 38-28 loss.

Chatham beat Madison in two previous meetings this season, but not on senior night. Celebrating their senior night with eleven seniors, the Dodgers took it to Chatham in the second period.

Madison scored 15 points while holding the the Cougars to only 2 points from 7 freethrows from the charity stripe and blasted to a 12-point lead on a pair of 3-pointers from Nick Evangelista and 4 points from Justin Goodwin.
Madison kept the the Cougars at bay, stopping a rally in the fourth quarter that generated only 10 points, including 2 points each from Colin Brown and Joe Timmes and 4 from Scott Baker.

Chatham is the No. 3 seed in the NJSIAA North II, Group 3 state playoffs beginning Monday, Feb. 27. The Cougars will face Nutley on Monday at home. "We are looking forward to next week, but we have some games to play before we get there," said Chatham coach Todd Ervin. "We always look forward to the States. It should be good," coach Ervin added.
