Basketball Teams in State Tournaments Tuesday

Welcome to the Cougar Sports Corner, where we bring you all the news from Chatham High athletics.

On Monday:

• The boys ice hockey team was defeated by St. Peter's Prep 3-1 at the Pru-Amerihealth Center in Newark.

On Tuesday:

• The boys basketball team will travel to Plainfield to play in the NJSIAA Tournament at 7 p.m. Transport leaves at 5:45 p.m. The boys are seeded #9 in the tournament.
• The girls basketball team will take on Parsippany Hills at home in an NJSIAA Tournament game at 7 p.m in the A/B Gymnasium. The girls are seeded #1 in North 2, Group 3 and Parsippany Hills is seeded #16.

Announcements:

• Tuesday, March 1 is the last night that Booster Club passes will be accepted for admission.
• The next Athletic Booster Club meeting is Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Chatham High School media center.

On Wednesday:

• The boys and girls swim teams will meet with Coach Steele at 2:45 p.m. in the cafeteria. Teams will vote on Most Valuable Players, Most Improved Players and captains for the 2011-2012 season.
