Basketball Roundup: Boys Lose, Girls Come Out On Top
Lady Cougars defeat Mountain Lakes; boys overwhelmed by Mendham.
The Chatham boys' basketball team lost to Mendham, 56-37, at Mendham High School on Saturday. The girls defeated Mountain Lakes 44-37 on the road.
Amanda Berntsen paced the Lady Cougars with 23 points as Chatham outscored Mountain Lakes 11-3 in the third quarter to pull away for the win. Chatham is now 7-3.
The score was tied at 24 at halftime.

The Lady Cougars will face Morris Catholic at home on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Berntsen's brother, Jonathan Berntsen, led the boys team with nine points in a losing effort against Mendham, which improved to 8-1.

Chatham dropped to 6-4 after the loss. The Cougars will take on Morris Catholic on the road at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
