3 Chatham Athletes Receive Honors from Boy Scouts

Also, no school means no sports from the last three days.

students Peter Basso, Jimmy Foy and Sean McHugh received the 2011 Scout Scholar Athletes Award from the Boy Scouts of America Patriots' Path Council.

On Thursday:

  • The girls soccer team defeated the Academy of St. Elizabeth 6-0 in Chatham on Senior Day. Goals by Maggie Higgins (2), Lina Proska (2), and Kate Murphy (2), with assists from Lina Proska (2), Jessica Aloia, Kate Murphy, Maggie Higgins and Liz Hyde.

  • The field hockey team defeated Westwood 8-0 in Chatham in NJSIAA Tournament play.

On Saturday:

  • The girls soccer team was defeated by Madison 1-0 in a game that was ended after the half due to poor weather and field conditions.

    The Morris County Boys' Soccer Championship game scheduled for Sunday at Roxbury has been postponed to TBA.

The following games are scheduled for Wednesday and are subject to change, based on weather and field conditions and availability:

  • The girls field hockey team competes against Madison High School in the state tournament at noon on .
  • The girls soccer team competes against Cranford in the state tournament at Haas Field at 2 p.m.
  • The boys soccer team competes against Parsippany Hills at in the state tournament at 2 p.m.
  • The girls volleyball team competes in state tournaments against Red Bank Regional High School at 5 p.m.

The parents meeting with Coach Steele for the boys and girls swim teams have been postponed.

The bowling team meeting with Coach Swartz has been postponed to Saturday, Nov. 5 at 9:30 a.m. in the high school teachers lounge.
