PARTIES AT THE SENIOR CENTER

The Senior Center of the Chathams went all out for their annual Thanksgiving luncheon on Wed., Nov. 18. This year several of the Senior Center’s board members served a record number of 75 attendees. The mood was very festive and all were treated to free turkey with all the trimmings, thanks to the generosity of the Municipal Alliance Committee of the Chathams. Chatham High School’s Key Club provided the scrumptious pies with no shortage of everyone’s favorite—pumpkin! Summit Medical Group’s Ophthalmologist, Dr. Hamed Lari, gave an informative slide/lecture presentation on “Eye Care” explaining cataracts and glaucoma and their latest treatments.

During the year, the Center hosts several of these luncheon gatherings, including “Festa Italiana,” St Patrick’s Day, Afternoon Tea, Spring Luncheon, and the Open House Barbecue. The Center is most grateful to the Municipal Alliance Committee of the Chathams for the sponsoring two of these luncheons each year and to the CHS Key Club students for providing the desserts.

The Center is now planning the next event, the Holiday Cocktail Party, which promises to be another success.
