JOIN US FOR EXERCISE

What was your New Year’s resolution?  If it was to get in shape or exercise more and you are 60 years or older, look no further than Senior Services Center of the Chathams.

 

Recognizing the truth in “use it or lose it,” we offer several options for all levels of fitness.  All the classes are led by instructors who are in tune with the needs of seniors--good balance, strength and flexibility. The staff tries to encourage all ages and levels of ability to exercise by offering a variety of classes.

The never boring, “Tone & Flex” is a more traditional class with weights, bands, balance balls and some cardio mixed in.

Tai Chi mixes some slower controlled movements with meditation.

 

Yoga offers gentle stretching and balance poses that can be done on mats, standing or from a chair.

 

The latest addition, Brain Education for Successful Aging combines physical exercise with tasks that improve mental acuity and emotional regularity.

 

Super Senior discount--something new to encourage our most senior population to exercise—offers a 20% discount for the 90+ yr old.
