Patch takes a look at the high school's upcoming spring seasons.

Spring is in bloom, and Chatham High School athletes are gearing up for spring sports. With opening day just around the corner, Patch takes a look at the teams as they prepare for another season. The CHS Varsity Baseball team has plenty of veterans that could make this year a memorable one.

  • Matt Reader, Third Base (Sr.) – Reader has been a strong presence on the team for years, and hopes to make his senior season his best yet.

They'll Miss

  • Dan Haus, Centerfield – The Second-Team All Conference outfielder currently plays for the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
  • Gio Casale, Pitcher – The pitcher was a solid force on the Cougars' starting line up. He attends Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.
  • Kevin Giannattasio – A dedicated player and teammate, he now attends Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
  • Kevin Falconi, Third Base – Falconi had an impressive game-winning single against Mendham last year, and now is a student at Kean University.

Coach's Take

"Our biggest expectation is to see our team come together and really work with each other and for each other to have a successful season. This is my first year; I don’t know a whole lot about last season. I’m coming in with a fresh start." - Hedgecock
