Spanish Teacher Promoted to Language Supervisor

The Board of Education meets Monday.

The is expected to approve Josephine Serrano as the new supervisor of World Languages and ESL studies for the district when they meet Monday.

Serrano is currently a Spanish teacher at Chatham High School. If approved, she will replace at effective Jan. 1, 2013.

The board will also vote on a resolution making Vincent D'Elia, the director of Special Services, the anti-bullying coordinator for the entire district.

A finance resolution will approve school lunch prices at no increase over the 2011-12 school year, if it passes. Those prices are:

2012-13 School Year High School $3.75 Middle School $3.25 Elementary School $2.75 Reduced Price $0.40

Several paraprofessional staff also submitted their resignations for approval:

The board will also vote on whether to approve William Condon as an assistant volleyball coach at . Condon is not a staff member in the district and this will be his first time as an assistant coach for the girls volleyball team.

Lucent has also donated $500 to Chatham High's Robotics Club for winning a competition, contingent on the board's approval.

The Chatham Athletic Boosters have donated $7,798 to Chatham High for the purpose of installing a shed at Cougar Field for the track team's use.
