Softball, Lacrosse Teams Move On in State Tournament

The Cougars continue a successful spring season.

After defeating Pascack Valley 11-3 in a home game on Tuesday, the boys lacrosse team now hosts Holmdel at 4:30 p.m. at Cougar Field to see who will move on to the next round of the NJSIAA Group II tournament.

The on Tuesday, and will host Summit in the next round of tournament play on Thursday at 4 pm. at Haas Field.

In softball, the girls defeated Warren Hills 2-0 in Chatham on Tuesday, and now host Somerville on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Chatham Middle School softball field.

The boys golf team competed in the state tournament Tuesday at Neshanic Golf Course and finished third.

Also on Tuesday in regular season play, the baseball team lost to Roxbury 10-4 in an away game

The girls golf team defeated Mt. Saint Dominic's Academy Tuesday 220-231 at the Fairmount Country Club in Chatham.

On Thursday, the following teams play in scheduled state tournament games:

  • Girls softball vs. Somerville, 2:30 p.m., Chatham Middle School softball fields
  • Girls lacrosse vs. Summit, 4 p.m., Haas Field
  • Boys lacrosse vs. Holmdel, 4:30 p.m. at Cougar Field

The next Athletic Booster Club meeting is scheduled June 7 in the Chatham High School media center.
