Milton Avenue Kindergarteners Hold Mock Election

Students learn the importance of voting early.

Peggy Melvin's kindergarten class took a field trip Tuesday afternoon—all the way to the school gym.

Melvin's was one of several kindergarten classes to tour the polling area at Tuesday, complete with a peek inside the voting booth and even a mock election of their own. Students held a secret ballot where they voted for their favorite animal, adopting the Democrats' donkey and the Republican elephant.
