Megan Buckley Pursues Her Passion for Theater

The Chatham Middle School student finds her voice in the performing arts.

Know a great kid who made Eagle Scout or did your local soccer team take the championship?

They may be our next Patch Whiz Kids honoree. Each week, Chatham Patch seeks suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

Here's this week's selection:

Whiz Kid of the Week: Megan Buckley

Whiz Kid's School/Church: Chatham Middle School/St. Patrick’s Church

Whiz Kid's Major Activity: Performing arts

Whiz Kid's Accomplishments: “I have always loved acting and being on stage,” Megan said. “Recently, I was in the Chatham Middle School production of ‘Annie,’ where I played the role of Miss Hannigan. In the past, I have participated in after-school theatre enrichments at Milton Avenue School and was in the Lafayette School’s head shows as a puppet and as a narrator.”

Megan said once she got to the middle school, she knew she wanted to audition for the school plays. “I auditioned for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and got the role of the baker. I loved being a part of such a talented cast last year, as I was again this year.”

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: When you find something you love, whether it’s a sport or theater, just work hard and you will succeed.
