Jake Neumann 5th in Discus at State Championships

Chatham High School senior Jake Neumann finished 5th in the discus Thursday at the Track & Field State Championships with a throw of 178-feet 7-inches. The throw was a 12-foot improvement from his best at the Group Meet this past weekend.

In a strange turn of events the meet was postponed due to severe weather in the middle of the seeded heat of the boys 3200 meter run. With less than 2 laps to go in the race lightening in the area forced officials to stop the race.

The meet is scheduled to resume Monday 6/13 at 6pm at Old Bridge's Lombardi Field. Events to be completed include the boys and girls 3200, and 4x400 relays, boys shot put, boys long jump, girls triple jump, and girls javelin.
