Girls Lacrosse Begins State Play

Rain on Monday and Tuesday postponed and canceled several games, but that did not keep the Cougars down.

Less than 48 hours after losing the county tournament to Mendham, the girls varsity lacrosse team defeated Mendham 14-3 for the NJGLL Division Championship on Friday.

Also on Friday, the girls softball team defeated the Academy of St. Elizabeth 16-3, the boys tennis team defeated Lenape Valley 5-0 and the boys baseball defeated New Providence 4-2.

On Saturday the girls softball team defeated Morristown 3-1 in Chatham.

On Monday the boys golf team won the NJSIAA North 1 and 2, Group 2 Tournament at the Rockleigh Golf Course. They shot 313 and finished by 13 strokes. Individual scores are as follows: 

Also on Monday, the girls golf team efeated the Academy of St. Elizabeth in a shortened match due to rain. All other games were postponed.

The boys varsity and JV baseball games Tuesday have been postponed due to rain. The girls varsity and JV softball games have been canceled.

The boys tennis team is scheduled to play in the NJSIAA Tournament against Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School at the Brooklake Country Club at 3:30 p.m.

The boys golf team takes on Mount Olive High School at the Fairmount Country Club at 4 p.m.

The girls and boys varsity track teams were scheduled to compete in the Morris County Championships at Boonton High School at 4 p.m. but rain has postponed the meets.

The boys varsity lacrosse team plays against Montclair High School at 4 p.m. Transport leaves from Cougar Field at 2:50 p.m.

The girls varsity lacrosse team plays against Morris Hills in the NJSIAA Tournament at Haas Field at 4:30 p.m.
