Area: Dr. Joseph J. Murphy, Director of the Suburban Chiropractic Center in Chatham and Past President of the New Jersey Board of Chiropractic Examiners will present an inter-active course entitled, “The Wellness Revolution: Prevention Today Keeps the Doctor Away” for the Adult School of the Chathams, Madison, and Florham Park. The course is open to all area residents for a modest fee, and will be held at the Chatham Middle School on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 7:00 PM.

Dr. Murphy, a former food chemist and University of Pittsburgh Diet Study participant will be discussing such subjects as: The natural and healthful ways to weight loss; What is holistic health?; How can one become more health conscious?; What do I need to do to improve my longevity?, What type and how much should I exercise? and What is “natural food”?
Nutrition in all its facets will also be discussed as well as exercises to improve longevity. After the presentation there will be an extensive question and answer period where Dr. Murphy will answer all queries dealing with wellness.
A former food research scientist, Dr. Murphy has been in private practice in Chatham for 26 years. He has an extensive background in food formulation and analysis as well as all aspects of holistic healthcare and weight loss. Dr. Murphy received his Bachelor’s degree in biology from Rider University and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic.
A sought after lecturer and author, he is a Past President of the New Jersey and Morris County Chiropractic Societies as well as the Chatham Chamber of Commerce. He is currently Editor-In-Chief of the New Jersey Chiropractic Column and a member of the continuing education faculty at the University of Bridgeport. A member of the American Society of Cereal Chemists and the International society of Food Technologists, he currently serves as Secretary on the NJ Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
