Double Victories for Chatham at Weekend Invitational

And other sports information from the last weekend.

 

On Friday, the boys baseball team lost 9-7 to Madison while the softball team defeated Madison 5-0. The boys tennis team also defeated Madison 4-1.

The Chatham Baseball and Softball Invitationals on Saturday had a successful first round, with the softball team defeating West Essex 8-1 and the baseball team defeated Bernards 10-0. However, the second round was rained out and postponed to a date yet to be determined.

The girls lacrosse team also defeated Manhasset 14-11 in Long Island and the boys lacrosse team was defeated by Fairfield Prep 10-8 at the Haverford School in Haverford, Penn.

The boys track team competed at the Morris Hills Relays in Rockaway Saturday. The hurdling team placed fourth in the intermediate hurdles in 3:00:48 with the following times:

  • Stephen Bangs: 57.97;
  • Andrew Mudgett, 60:33
  • Charlie Zachariades, 62:18

Bangs had the third fastest individual time of the day.

The discus throwers, Eric Drury, James Arnuk and Jake Neumann, placed third in the relays.

The team placed 5th in the distance medley, with Corey Black, Charlie Zachariades, Luke Freeman and Anthony Malatesta competing.

Rob Jennings, James Arnuk and Andrew Fenwick also placed sixth in the javelin.

The Lady Cougars competed at the Morris Hills Relays on Saturday. Katie Hurt, Lauren Hagens, Audra Stasiukevicius and Dana Sulit placed sixth in the shuttle hurdles with a time of 1:17:97.

The sprint medley relay team also placed fifth with Emily Hoffman, Katie Hurt, Erin O'Connor and Julie Williamson running in 4:39.

The high jump relay ream also placed fifth with Lauren Hagnes, MArie-Caroline Finke and Lucy Wardley also placed fifth with a combined jump of 13-0.
