Chatham K-3 Schools Closed Monday

The Board of Education meet Monday will address the missed school days.

Primary schools in the School District of the Chathams will be closed Monday due to lingering effects from Tropical Storm Sandy.

Lafayette Avenue School, Chatham Middle School and Chatham High School will open as usual while Southern Boulevard School, Washington Avenue School and Milton Avenue School will be closed.

Superintendent Michael LaSusa said, "Our intention is to provide instruction to the primary students in some way on Tuesday."

LaSusa said further information about primary student instruction and making up the school days lost after Tropical Storm Sandy will come out of the Board of Education meeting Monday night.

Business Administrator Peter Daquila said the meeting will take place at Chatham Middle School at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

I put something up on the web, Laura.  We are opening LAF, CMS, and CHS on a delay.  The k-3 schools will remain closed tomorrow.  Our intention is to provide instruction to the primary students in some way on Tuesday, with an announcement about that on Monday evening.  I hope you are well.
