Chatham High PTO Gifts $60,000 for Improvements

The money will be used for lighting and sound improvements in the auditorium and a sound system in the A/B gym.

Students, families and teachers at will notice a number of improvements underway as they prepare to go back to school.

Besides the , gifts of approximately $60,000 from the Chatham High PTO will pay for improvements throughout the campus.

The largest improvement project will take place in the auditorium, which Chatham High shares with . According to the PTO newsletter, "lighting and sound improvements will be the two major enhancements this year" in the auditorium.

The newsletter also said that the PTO is looking into the cost of replacing the auditorium's 35-year-old carpeting and seating.

The $60,000 donation will also pay for a sound system in the A/B gymnasium, banners for the front driveway, water fountains for the lobby and three Smartboards and LCD projectors for the music rooms.
